    for Daybook products

If you have problem when using any Daybook product the support team will need you to carry out some checks to eliminate possibilities and pinpoint the problem.

You can help by carrying out some procedures before reporting an error. This will speed up the time it takes to resolve your call.

    (1) To make sure that the problem is not specific to the MACHINE on which you are working try exactly the same procedure on another machine if possible.

    (2) If the procedure works on the other machine, do the following.

    a) Delete your preferences (see Deleting Daybook Preferences)
    b) Switch off
    c) Switch on again (if you are on a Mac additionally zap your PRAM by holding down Apple-Alt-P-R while starting up - and release after you have heard a second chime)
    d) Turn off all other applications to ensure that there is not some interference between packages
    e) Install a fresh copy of the 4D Client software
    f) Try using Enterprise again to see if the fault persists.
    g) Make a careful note of any error message (or even better get a screen capture of the error message)

    (3) If none of the above work reboot the server to make sure it is not a server error

    (4) Make sure the problem is not specific to YOU - no criticism implied just worth eliminating

    a) Get someone else to carry out the procedure on your machine

    IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS

If the problem still persists make a careful note of what you were doing when the fault occurred (which volume, which menu, which submenu, which buttons, etc.), exactly what you were expecting and what you got (including any error codes you noted above). The more accurate this information, the easier and quicker it is for the team to find your problem and solve it.

    Thank you for your co-operation.
